‘A Day in the Life’ of Stonehouse!
Stonehouse were thrilled to be entrusted with significant damp proofing works to the World’s largest and most famous recording space – Studio One at Abbey Road.

Working to a very tight deadline (the studio is in constant use by artists and orchestras) we removed defective wall plaster around the perimeter and formed a wall-floor junction prior to replastering with our own Stonehouse Premix No. 5 plaster mix to form a Type A cementitious barrier to moisture.

In order to maintain the unique and finely-balanced acoustic properties of the studio we were unable to remove any other wall or floor coverings but managed to link directly to the concrete floor slab. Our system will provide a long-term solution to a long-standing defect.

From The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Radiohead to Sir Edward Elgar’s Land of Hope and Glory and Skyfall what a privilege it was to step inside this iconic global icon and ‘mix it’ in our own Stonehouse way.
