Diagnosis
This historic building had spent its life housing livestock and storing farm equipment. The grassy bank behind was much higher than inside levels and all walls were wet from rising and penetrating dampness. The walls were heavily contaminated with years of animal waste which deposits salts and aggressively breaks down any new plaster finishes.
Solution
We resolved all issues by installing a cavity drain membrane system which was able to drain to the front open elevation, offer a physical barrier to the salts and a void to allow the walls to slowly dry. This solution also allowed any build-up in water pressure to be released.
