Although a short walk from the River Thames, this property sits in the flood plain and flooded in 2014 across the ground floor. The insurance company stripped out the contaminated wall plaster and screed. The owners did not want a repeat performance and Stonehouse were asked to design a flood-control scheme to manage water ingress in the future.

This large property now has 4 sump chambers, each with 2 x NP750 pumps providing a pumping capacity of over 2,000 litres per min. We were respectful of the property’s listed status, calculated the risk of flood depth and varied our wall membrane to the lowest levels possible. A continuous ring of Basedrain was laid into the slab and the floor overlaid with a 20mm cavity drain membrane.
