Following on from our successful works at The Royal Courts of Justice, Stonehouse was asked to assess storage vaults beneath the Law Courts in Soho. The vaults suffered from a mixture of water ingress dripping into the storage areas and condensation building up on cold ceiling surfaces. Confidential files were constantly being moved around to avoid water damage.

We devised a complicated protection system involving Foamglas insulation to flat soffit areas, Vandex BB75E to open construction joints and a full cavity drain membrane system to walls and vaulted ceilings. We directly plastered all areas of meshed membrane and applied an epoxy resin non-slip vapour barrier to the floor. Much of the work was carried out by night due to parking restrictions and noise which would have affected the working court sessions.
