JOHN RADCLIFFE HOSPITAL, OXFORD

John Radcliffe Hospital – Wolfson Centre, Oxford
Diagnosis
Funded by the Wolfson Foundation, the Wellcome Trust and the University of Oxford, the Wolfson Centre is the only purpose-built clinical research facility in the UK looking at stroke and vascular dementia. The centre will be home to 25% of the UK’s active researchers in these fields, also housing The Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging.
This state-of-the-art, three storey new-build provides laboratories, seminar and office space and is partially underground. It was essential at design stage to integrate a secure waterproofing system which safeguarded the high-risk nature of this project. Richard Allen, one of our senior surveyors and a waterproofing design specialist, was bought in as part of the design team to recommend a system in line with BS8102:2009
