This home flooded with 50mm of water across the tiled floor on two occasions after heavy rainfall. The second incident prompted a claim on the property’s NHBC insurance policy.
The photographs illustrate the unusual moisture profile as water wicked up the absorbent plasterboard dry lining system.
Stonehouse was asked to assess the moisture source and concluded that water had entered the basement when the water table was elevated. We were contracted to seal the obvious points of water entry, install a new Type C Newton cavity drain membrane system to replace the original poorly installed cavity drain system. Then to manage the water ingress and pump it out of the building via a Titan Pro pumping chamber.
