HIDDEN COTSWOLDS

For so many reasons both technically and aesthetically this beautiful structure has to be a favourite recent Stonehouse project, buried deep in the Cotswold hills and internally lined with Cotswold stone.
Stonehouse was approached to provide a Type A external waterproofing solution by our client who had the vision to create this modern-day folly.
As a first line of defence, land drains were laid around the structure to reduce water pressure against the structure.
The external Type A waterproofing system was designed to fully encapsulate the building. An internal system could not be considered due to the number of ties required to secure the internal stonework.
We selected a bespoke range of the most effective products to manage any potential water ingress:
Hydrobond 403 Plus – used below the concrete slab
Hydrobond 2K Flex – applied to the walls
Geodrain – as drainage layer for the walls
Koster NB4000 – for the deck area
Hydrobond 410 – deck drain above
