HARLEYFORD MANOR

Diagnosis
A basement extension was added to this impressively situated 1753 Grade I Listed manor to accommodate a new plant room. To comply with BS8102:2009, a Type 2 environment was required.

Solution
The property is adjacent to the River Thames. To allow the installation of our Type A externally applied Newton Hydrobond waterproofing system in winter, a full de-watering scheme was installed to artificially reduce the ground water level to below the new concrete slab.

We installed a Hydrobond system below the Type B concrete slab; all walls were then formed and we applied a Hydrobond LM system to all surfaces prior to back-filling. The de-watering system was then de-commissioned and the system was immediately put under pressure and worked perfectly.
