BIBURY

Long-term disused and dilapidated premises in Bibury have been brought back to life as a thoughtfully restored and stylish tearoom with shop/gallery serving the community and the steady stream of tourists to this idyllic Cotswold village.

The retail space has been extended into the hillside to greatly increase the capacity and create an external roof top garden.

Stonehouse was approached to design, install and guarantee a waterproofing system to prevent water from a number of directions –

• the new flat roof decks
• the earth retaining rear wall
• potential flood water from the hillside
• potential flood water from adjacent stream at the front elevation

To protect the Grade II listed Cotswold stone original structure, we installed a full Type C Newton 500 cavity drain system with two Titan Pro chambers, each with 2 high capacity NP750 sump pumps and battery back-ups for any eventuality.

The new concrete structures have an external Type A Hydrobond application with a NB4000 external deck waterproofing to decks and steps. Our works provide both Type A and C waterproofing, linked together for continuous protection.

Lovely to be involved in a project promoting such high-quality craftmanship – the menu looks pretty special too!!
